“In the traffic of Mumbai, amid the chaos of cars and the noise of the megacity, nothing magical ever happens.”

Mumbai never stops. Between congested traffic and the city’s relentless din, getting around every day is a challenge. Gurleen knows this well: every morning she carefully calculates how long it will take her to reach the university, while Kumar, astride his scooter, tries to weave his way through lines of cars at a standstill. A moment, a brief exchange of glances between the two, then the sound of a horn and the traffic sweeps them away, each in a different direction.

A little later, however, Gurleen’s gaze lingers on something different. Right above the bus stop, scaffolding and cranes trace the outline of the new Metro Line 2B. A long-awaited project that will change the way people move around the city. FS Engineering is among the companies involved in its construction, playing a key role in the Project Management Consultancy for the 23 km of Line 2B and the 16.5 km of Line 7.

For people like Gurleen and Kumar, who face the daily challenge of commuting, this infrastructure means greater efficiency, less time wasted in traffic, and a more accessible city. And who knows—perhaps one day they will truly meet, no longer separated by the chaos of the streets, but accompanied by the rhythmic sound of carriages racing through the skies of Maharashtra. Perhaps they will find a way to connect, even at the cost of missing the first, the second, or the third stop.

Because on a metro running above the skies of Mumbai, far from the chaos of cars and the noise of the megacity, magic can happen.
