Legislative Decree No. 163/2006 introduced the requirement for project verification by accredited inspection bodies. In the same year, FS Engineering, formerly Italferr, obtained accreditation as an Inspection Body (IB), consolidating more than twenty years of qualified experience in project verification.

The Inspection Body operates through its own Management System, compliant with the requirements of UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17020 and integrated with the Company's Management System for shared processes.

The Inspection Body carries out project verification activities aimed at supporting their Validation and Approval, in compliance with Legislative Decree No. 36/2023 and UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17020. Within the scope of its expertise, it performs verification activities for projects prepared prior to tendering procedures, including the Technical and Economic Feasibility Design (PFTE) and the Detailed Design (PE), as well as the executive designs prepared by contractors, in accordance with applicable regulations and accreditation procedures.

Through its verification activities, the Inspection Body ensures the achievement of the objectives established by the relevant standards, verifying that the tender design meets the minimum requirements for procurement, complies with the needs outlined in the planning and guidance documentation, and conforms to all applicable regulations.
