FS Engineering has developed a methodology for determining the climate footprint of infrastructure, aimed at measuring greenhouse gas emissions generated during the construction phase of projects, in accordance with the UNI ISO 14064-1 standard.
The methodology has been applied to numerous projects, and the results of the analyses have been formalised in dedicated “Summary Reports”, supporting decision-making processes and environmental reporting. Its application makes it possible to integrate environmental criteria from the design stage, contributing to a more informed and responsible management of the climate impact of infrastructure.

This approach has enabled us to gain a competitive advantage, fostering the opening of new market opportunities and the development of value-added products and services capable of meeting the needs of clients and the wider community, in line with a sustainable growth perspective.

This journey represents tangible evidence of the leadership of the Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane Group in sustainable development, grounded in an ethical and inclusive economy, capable of generating a virtuous cycle and promoting the adoption of similar practices in other contexts and industrial sectors.
