4TH ALGIERS ROCADE (BYPASS) MOTORWAY – Hanacha – Berrouaghia (Lot 1)

FS Engineering involved in a major national strategic infrastructure project

FS Engineering has been engaged to prepare the construction drawings for the 4th Algiers Rocade Bypass Motorway – Lot 1, on behalf of a leading Italian contractor awarded the relevant construction contract by the Algerian client ANA – Agence Nationale des Autoroutes. The new Hanacha–Berrouaghia motorway, part of the 4ᵗʰ Algiers Rocade Bypass, represents a strategic infrastructure project for the national transport system. The route crosses Algeria from west to east, running approximately 80 km south of the capital, and forms part of the country’s main road and motorway network, with the aim of alleviating traffic congestion in the Algiers metropolitan area and improving connections nationwide.

The entire project extends for approximately 262 km and comprises 15 junctions. A typical section of the motorway consists of two carriageways, each with three traffic lanes and one emergency lane in each direction. FS Engineering was responsible for the developed design of Lot 1, covering a distance of 33.2 km, including geotechnical works, roadworks, structural works and hydraulic works, ensuring design solutions in line with international standards for safety, functionality and durability of the infrastructure.
