DATA MANAGEMENT AND STANDARDISATION FOR DIGITALISING THE INFRASTRUCTURE MAINTENANCE PROCESS

We are committed to implementing advanced digital processes to support infrastructure maintenance engineering. Thanks to the adoption of digital tools and structured processes, we can collect, organise and standardise all the information we need to monitor and intervene on the single physical components of the infrastructure, making it available in digital format. This approach can be applied to both existing infrastructure and new projects.

The process begins with a detailed analysis and structured cataloguing of the elements that make up the infrastructure. Each component is identified and described in terms of its technical, functional, and performance characteristics, which are useful for supporting effective planning and maintenance. The information is then digitised and integrated into information systems for more efficient, precise, and interoperable management.

In a subsequent phase, the use of dedicated digital applications and tools enables the tracking and optimisation of maintenance work, significantly reducing the risk of errors, downtime, and operational inefficiency. The collected data can be transformed into value-added information to support decision-making processes, risk forecasting, and post-intervention efficacy assessment.

This approach integrates fully with the digital information management of the entire infrastructure lifecycle. Over time, the structuring and continuous updating of information models enable an integrated and consistent view of all relevant data, during both the operation and maintenance phases, fostering increasingly informed and prevention-oriented management.

The digitalisation of the maintenance process is based on the systematic collection and analysis of technical, performance, economic, field, and maintenance data; on the definition and customisation of algorithms capable of interpreting the information contained in the digital models and linking it to the structure’s Digital Twin; and on the implementation of corrective actions through predictive and improvement-oriented maintenance, supported by cost-benefit analyses.
