Signalling systems for the development of the Egyptian railway network 

A major contract awarded following an international tender, in which FS Engineering prevailed over leading global engineering firms, confirming its position in the international market for advanced railway systems.

The Egyptian National Railways (ENR) have engaged FS Engineering to develop the Preliminary Design and tender documents, and provide technical assistance throughout the tender process, up to the awarding of the Design & Build Contract for implementing the ETCS Level 1 system on the following railway sections:

Alexandria – Benha – Cairo (208 km)

  • Cairo – Beni Suef (125 km)
  • Beni Suef – Asyut (250 km)
  • Benha – Zagazig – El Ismaylia – Port Said (190 km)
  • Asyut – Nag Hammadi (180 km)

The Corridor IV project represents a strategic initiative to enhance the capacity, safety, and reliability of the Egyptian rail network, contributing to the development of regional connections and the adoption of international engineering standards for high-performance rail transport.

FS Engineering completed its work in July 2023.
