TIRANA TERMINAL

The new Tirana Terminal is designed to serve as the terminus for suburban and international bus routes and as a transport hub with the city’s mass transit system, taxis, and the future tram-train line. FS Engineering was commissioned to carry out the feasibility study and to assist Tirana City Council in preparing the public tender for the construction of the project, which has been designed to serve as an urban landmark, as well as a transport infrastructure.

A defining feature of the project is the landmark tower, situated along the main road network and designed to serve as a distinctive marker of the entrance to the terminal. The proposed design aims to make sure that the terminal can be recognised across the city, integrating with the existing and future urban fabric, promoting environmental sustainability and a clear separation of vehicle and pedestrian flows.

FS Engineering acted as the designer, contributing to the development of a strategic infrastructure for the reorganisation of urban and inter-urban transport in the Albanian capital.
