CORRIDOR IV PROJECTS
The expertise of FS Engineering at the service of the Romanian railways
Between 2012 and 2020, FS Engineering significantly contributed to the renewal and upgrading of the Romanian railway network, carrying out work on over 429 km of strategic lines and ensuring compliance with European interoperability standards.
On behalf of CFR – Compania Națională de Căi Ferate, the Romanian railway operator, FS Engineering provided technical assistance for the rehabilitation of the following five sections of Pan-European Corridor IV, a key axis for European mobility:
The project covered the entire construction cycle, ensuring compliance with European standards through the review of feasibility studies, the design and upgrading of railway infrastructure and the installation of technological systems.
FS Engineering also carried out a feasibility study for the rehabilitation of approximately 234 km of the Craiova–Caransebeș line, part of the East-Med Corridor, further strengthening the country’s strategic rail network.
The feasibility study and final design were completed in May 2013, whilst technical assistance during the construction phase took place between January 2012 and December 2020.
