STARA PAZOVA–NOVI SAD RAILWAY LINE
Serbia is modernising its railway infrastructure
The Stara Pazova–Novi Sad railway line project forms part of a comprehensive, wide-scale programme to modernise and upgrade Serbia’s railway infrastructure. The strategic goal of this scheme is to reinforce transport connectivity and capacity along the critical North-South European axis.
Within this framework, FS Engineering was appointed by RZD International LLC to deliver technical assistance, independent design verification, and construction works supervision for the Stara Pazova–Novi Sad section. Spanning a total length of approximately 42 km, this section constitutes an integral phase of the high-speed Belgrade–Budapest mainline. The company's scope also extended to providing technical support during the final stages of the infrastructure handover, testing, and commissioning.
As part of this programme, FS Engineering, on behalf of RZD International LLC, provided technical assistance, design verification and supervision of works relating to the Stara Pazova–Novi Sad section – an integral part of the Belgrade–Budapest line – covering a total length of approximately 42 km. The work also included support during the final stages of handover and commissioning of the infrastructure.
The newly upgraded line is designed to support operating speeds of up to 200 km/h, delivering a transformative performance boost to the Serbian rail network and accelerating the integration of international transport corridors.
Physical rail works along the entire corridor section from Belgrade up to the Hungarian border have been successfully completed, marking a major milestone in the modernisation of the national rail network and the strengthening of trans-European connectivity.
