The refurbishing of Torino Rebaudengo Fossata station has passed a key project milestone. On 1 September 2026, Phase 1 works drew to a successful close with the opening of the new Corso Venezia entrances providing access to the subterranean platforms.
Situated on the Turin cross-city line and served by the Suburban Rail Network (SFM), Rebaudengo Fossata is a critical interchange for the city’s northern quadrant, improving connectivity across local neighborhoods, the city center, and the wider metropolitan area.
The scope of works involved bringing the access routes to the two east-side subways into operation. These are served by four new canopies and fully equipped with lifts, escalators, and stairwells. The completed infrastructure delivers significant improvements to step-free access, passenger safety, and overall station comfort, streamlining daily commutes for passengers and local residents alike.
Opening the Corso Venezia entrances marks a major step forward in the infrastructure renewal and regeneration programme, allowing the project team to pivot focus to the next stage of delivery.
Site operations will now progress into the west-side works, focusing on the construction of the new station building, which will complete the functional and architectural layout of the entire facility.
Substantial completion is scheduled for March 2027, when the new transport hub will become fully operational, offering modern, accessible facilities fully integrated into the wider Turin public transport network.
The successful delivery of this project milestone was overseen by FS Engineering, which is engaged in the Project Management, Construction Supervision, and Principal Designer / Health & Safety Coordination duties through continuous on-site monitoring and multi-phase project assurance.
