The European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) is a specialised legal entity and funding body established in 2018, in Luxembourg, mandated to develop and consolidate European supercomputing infrastructure, as a strategic driver to strengthen the EU’s capabilities in science, industry, and technology.

Under this framework, CINECA’s High Performance Computing (HPC) department operates as Italy’s flagship computing facility and ranks among the most capable supercomputing centres in Europe. Within FS Engineering’s GeoAnomaly Sentinel project, the HPC ecosystem plays a critical role in scaling our computational capacities, enabling us to accelerate the training of complex machine learning models on massive geospatial datasets, rapidly process information covering vast local areas, and generally improve the efficiency, scalability, and performance of the algorithms developed.
