C'MON OPTIPLANT
In the 2024 edition, FS Engineering developed the C’Mon Optiplant proof of concept (PoC) as a tool to optimize green-space design and monitor carbon capture. By integrating phytoclimatic, topographical, morphological, and botanical datasets, the platform maximizes atmospheric CO₂ sequestration. It simultaneously simulates real-time and long-term carbon capture performance based on selected plant species and localized climate dynamics.
WIKI-SURF
In the 2024 edition, FS Engineering developed the Wiki-Surf PoC tool to provide an environment for exploring business processes and governance procedures. It enables rapid topic navigation, establishes a standardized technical glossary, and accelerates information retrieval, significantly enhancing cross-departmental collaboration between process authors and end-users.
RAILAWARE
In the 2024 edition, FS Engineering developed the RailAware PoC tool to identify an Artificial Intelligence solution for ensuring that procedures comply with the certified corporate Management System standards, based on the formal procedure verifications carried out by the HSQE Systems and the drafting of the procedures by the Process Owners.
RAIL TRUSTFLOW
In the 2024 edition, FS Engineering carried out the Rail TrustFlow PoC with the aim of assessing the feasibility of using blockchain technology in the management of railway infrastructure certifications during the commissioning and testing phases. The objective is to develop a PoC for a European railway certificate management system that can guarantee authenticity and transparency across the supply chain, automate document control, and ensure traceability for stakeholder interactions.
GEO ANOMALY SENTINEL
In the 2024 edition, FS Engineering developed the GeoAnomalySentinel PoC as a tool based on machine learning algorithms capable of analysing remote sensing data collected using multiple methodologies and generating alerts regarding archaeological anomalies.
CLIMATE 4 VULNERABILITY
In the 2023 edition, FS Engineering developed the Climate4Vulnerability PoC with the aim of analysing historical and predictive future climate data, in order to extrapolate parameters and information that can be used for designing resilient infrastructure.
RAIN TRACK ALERT
In the 2023 edition, FS Engineering developed the Rain Track Alert PoC to create a solution capable of measuring rainfall in real time using SRS sensors, which generate high-spatial-resolution rainfall maps refreshed every sixty seconds, enabling critical events to be reported typically up to 30 minutes ahead of peak events.
CX360
In the 2023 edition, FS Engineering carried out the CX-360 PoC to build a dynamic customer satisfaction monitoring environment for business processes and services. This project leverages AI and data analytics to monitor customer perception with a view to driving continuous service improvement, standardising data processing, sentiment classification, and dashboard reporting. Trenitalia too is involved in this PoC, in relation to its specific use case.
DOCSGUARDAL
In the 2023 edition, FS Engineering developed the DocsGuardAI PoC to customise Natural Language Processing (NLP) algorithms, adapting them to its specific requirements. The initiative aims to enhance office automation by automating tasks such as data extraction, document drafting, questionnaire completion, and risk identification, thanks to an AI-driven demonstrator that analyses documents, extracts useful information, and supports risk analysis.
RAIL
In the 2022 edition, FS Engineering developed the RAIL PoC, which involves the development of artificial intelligence algorithms capable of recognising, via change detection, anomalies, and structural damage in slope stabilisation works – such as the loosening of bolts on cortical linings – with a view to monitoring for predictive maintenance and the mitigation of hydrogeological risk.
DIGISITE
In the 2022 edition, FS Engineering implemented the DigiSite PoC, aimed at digitising site management through tools capable of optimising time and resources. The platform enables site managers to manage construction sites centrally in a quick and simple manner, offering the ability to generate instant reports, apply signatures, and ensure traceability through blockchain technology, which certifies their authenticity.
